Privacy policy
Effective date: 21 October 2026
This policy explains what data the Perge apps (iOS, Android and web) collect, why, where it goes and how long we keep it. In this policy, "Perge", "we" and "us" mean the publisher of the Perge apps, who is the data controller for the personal data described here.
The short version
- We don't show ads, we don't sell your personal data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
- Health data is read on your device. Only the resulting check-in reaches our servers, and it is never sold, never used for advertising and never shared with third parties.
- You can get a copy of all your data, or delete your account and everything in it, by emailing support@getperge.com.
Your account
To create an account we collect your email address and the sign-in details for the method you choose: an email magic link, Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in. We also store account settings such as your time zone, when your week starts and your reminder preferences.
Your goals and plan
When you set up a plan, you describe your goal in your own words and answer 8–10 follow-up questions. Perge may also ask for profile details used to tailor those questions, such as an age range and, optionally, your gender.
Your goal description, your answers and those profile details are sent to an AI (large language model) provider to generate your questions and your plan. We keep a log of each request and response for 90 days so we can check the quality and safety of generated plans; after 90 days the content is redacted and only metadata (such as when the request was made and how long it took) is kept.
Your plans, check-ins, notes and weekly reviews are kept for as long as you have an account.
Health data (Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect)
If you allow it, Perge reads health data so that exercise habits can check themselves off. Access is read-only: Perge never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect. You grant permission per metric and can revoke it at any time; habits still work with manual check-ins if you don't.
- On iOS, Perge reads from Apple HealthKit: workouts (type and duration), active energy, steps, exercise minutes, sleep duration and mindful minutes.
- On Android, Perge reads from Health Connect: exercise sessions, steps, active calories, sleep and, where available, mindfulness.
Health data is read and evaluated on your device. Only the derived check-in reaches our servers: whether the habit was done, the value and its unit (for example, "32 minutes"), and identifiers for the samples that produced it so you can see why a habit was checked off. Raw health records are not uploaded.
Health data is never sent to the AI provider. It is never used for advertising, never sold and never shared with third parties.
Calendar (Google Calendar and Apple Calendar)
If you turn on calendar blocking for a habit, Perge asks for calendar access at that moment. Perge writes events only to a dedicated "Perge — habits" sub-calendar, so you can hide or delete them in one step. To avoid scheduling over your existing commitments, Perge reads only free/busy information from your other calendars, not event titles or attendees, unless you choose to grant full read access for smarter placement.
Calendar events are generated from your plan and contain no health data. Calendar access tokens are encrypted at rest. Disconnecting a calendar deletes the future events in the Perge sub-calendar and keeps your plan.
Google Sheets export
If you export your plan to Google Sheets, Perge uses Google OAuth to get permission to create the sheet you ask for. Perge's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Exports to Excel and PDF are generated on our servers and made available to you through download links that expire after 7 days.
Usage telemetry
To find out which parts of Perge help people keep their habits, the apps send product events, such as "check-in logged" or "plan generated", with details like the platform and app version. Telemetry never contains free text: your goal description, answers, review text and notes are never included.
Raw telemetry events are kept for 13 months and then aggregated. You can opt out of non-essential telemetry. Essential telemetry (error reports and sync health) is still collected so the service keeps working.
Devices and notifications
For each device you use, we store the platform, a push notification token and when the device was last seen, so we can send reminders and keep your data in sync.
What we don't do
- No ads, in the app or anywhere else.
- No sale of personal data.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- Your goal description, answers and review text are never shown to other users.
Exporting and deleting your data
You can ask for a copy of all your data at any time; we send it as JSON and an Excel (xlsx) file. You can also ask us to delete your account. Deletion removes everything associated with your account within 30 days.
Send export or deletion requests to support@getperge.com from the email address on your account.
Security
Data is encrypted at rest, and each person's data is separated at the database level so one account can't read another's.
Age
Perge is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
Changes to this policy
If we change what data Perge collects, where it goes or how long we keep it, we will update this page and its effective date.
